Hickory shrugs off slow start for win



HICKORY, Pa. -- The Hickory High boys basketball team overcame a sluggish first quarter to defeat Sharpsville 54-46 Saturday.
The Hornets (2-1) scored just two points in the first quarter before outscoring Sharpsville (0-4) 23-12 in the second quarter to take a 25-20 halftime lead. That lead held in the second half for the victory.
Dante Marshall paced the Hornets with 17 points, and Nick Mastrian added 11.
For Sharpsville, Brett Peruzzi and Mark Anglin each scored nine points.
