Boardman's Vallos wins Brooke title

BROOKE, W.Va. -- Boardman High senior Steve Vallos won the Wendy's Brooke Wrestling Classic at 275 pounds and was one of four Spartans to place in the tournament.
Vallos pinned Chris Satterfield of East Fairmont at 3 minutes, 39 seconds for the title.
During his run to the title, Vallos, who pinned his way through the tournament, also knocked off Joey Caughey, a two-time West Virginia state champion.
Other Spartan placers were Willie Rosa, fourth at 112 pounds; Tony Stellato, fourth at 119 pounds; and Jason Mechling, fourth at 215 pounds.
Howland also placed two wrestlers in the field. Brandon Lucas was second at 112 pounds, while Anthony Prvonozac was third at 130.
Canon-McMillan won the 16-team tournament of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia schools.
