CAMPBELL -- Ellis Moody scored 20 points and added four steals as Wilson defeated Campbell Memorial 71-59 for its second straight win.
Three other Redmen finished in double figures as Wilson overcame an 11-2 Campbell lead in the first quarter.
Randall Poindexter added 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Antwan Johnson had 14 points with three blocks, and Demar Clark added 10 points for Wilson. Terrell Harris scored a game high 21 points and added 10 rebounds for Campbell (0-3).
Campbell opened an 11-2 lead early in the game as Ricky Quinn hit on two 3-point baskets. After a Wilson timeout, the Redmen rallied to lead 14-13 before Harris scored to give the Devils the lead 15-14 after the first quarter.
"We fell behind 11-2 in a zone so we called time to go to a halfcourt man-to-man defense, which helped us to come back," said Wilson coach Mark Cherol.
Key quarter: Moody scored 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 in the second frame, including two 3-point shots, as the Redmen connected on 9-of-12 from the field in the second quarter. Wilson took a 34-28 lead at halftime.
Wilson increased the advantage to 54-44 after three quarters. Harris scored nine of Campbell's 12 points in the third quarter.
In the final quarter, the Redmen connected on just one field goal in eight tries, but managed to hit 15-of-19 shots from the foul line to keep Campbell from closing the lead to fewer than six points.
"We have been working hard on the foul line the last couple of weeks," Cherol said. "It is great to see it pay off for us tonight. We got some good help off the bench and played really well as a team tonight."
Wilson finished 24-of-55 from the field and 20-of-32 at the foul line. Campbell hit on just 22-of-65 shots and 11-of-19 at the charity stripe.
Campbell outrebounded the Redmen 44-40. Both teams had 18 turnovers.
"We got off to a great start, but we were not able to maintain it," Campbell coach Bob Fick said. "We were hurt by not having Robert Armstrong tonight inside. This team is still looking for its own identity. We will get better as the year goes on."
Armstrong was serving the first of a two game suspension for an ejection at Chaney on Tuesday. He will miss his second game on Saturday when Campbell travels to Leetonia.
