YOUNGSTOWN Baby died of crushed skull, a homicide, coroner rules

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Trumbull County coroner's office has ruled the death of an 11-month-old boy a homicide.
A coroner's spokeswoman said today that Leroy Huff Jr. died Oct. 11 of blunt force trauma.
The coroner's office said that the Youngstown Police Department will be investigating the death.
Detective Daryl Martin said no arrests have been made. He said he did not know how long it will take to complete the investigation.
Police reports show that Leroy had suffered a crushed skull while his grandmother baby-sat him and his brother at their North Garland Avenue home two days before his death.
The child died at Tod Children's Hospital, and Trumbull County handles coroner cases from there.
Police reports state the boy's grandmother found him not breathing and unresponsive on the floor about a half-hour after she had put him down for a nap on a mattress and box springs.
