YOUNGSTOWN -- Roy Austin led three Chaney High basketball players in double figures Tuesday as the Cowboys won their second straight game, 65-63, over visiting Campbell Memorial. Austin finished with 21 points and a game-high 10 rebounds while Chris Childers added 15 and Keilen Dykes 13 for the Cowboys (2-0).
Terrell Harris scored a game-high of 27 points for Campbell (0-2), while Mohammad Awad added 12 markers. Harris has scored 52 points in the first two games this season.
Campbell closed to 59-58 on Ali Awad's hoop, but Chaney hit six free throws down the stretch to hold off the Devils.
Childers was seven of eight from the foul line in the fourth quarter for the Cowboys, and Eddie McElroy connected on two charity tosses with just under 10 seconds to play which pushed the lead to 65-60.
Ali Awad hit a 3-pointer with four seconds to play for Campbell, but Chaney did not have to inbound the ball as the red Devils were out of time-outs.
Early going: Chaney took a quick 17-5 lead in the first quarter as Austin scored seven points and Dykes five. Campbell closed the gap to 21-14 after the first eight minutes of action.
"We were not ready to play at the start and they kicked our butts in the first quarter," Campbell coach Bob Fick said. "After that, we played hard."

"The first quarter we got the ball inside to Austin and Dykes and it helped to get them in early foul trouble," Chaney coach Jim Stickel said. "We got away from that in the second quarter.
"We tried to force too many things. When we get the ball inside, good things happen for us," Stickel said.
Campbell tied the game at 36 on a 3-point basket by Harris with 5:48 to play in the quarter. Mohammad Awad's basket gave the Devils their first lead of the game at 38-36.
Uprising: A nine-point run by Chaney gave the lead back to the Cowboys, before the Devils came back again to lead 50-48 on Mike Harden's basket just before the end of the quarter.
Campbell scored the first basket of the fourth quarter before the Cowboys hit 11 straight points to retake the lead at 59-52.
