Youngstown State freshman Jen Perugini was named the Horizon League women's basketball player of the week. The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 14 points and 17 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the floor as the Penguins went 1-1. Perugini recorded a career-high 23 rebounds and scored 11 points in a 70-47 win over Akron. Her 23 rebounds tied for the third-highest single game in Horizon League history and tied for the fourth-highest total in YSU history.
