Sales of Lordstown carsdeclined in November
LORDSTOWN -- Sales of the cars produced at the General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant fell dramatically in November.
Chevrolet sold 14,128 Cavaliers last month, which was 23 percent fewer than the 18,298 sold in the same month last year. For the first 11 months of the year, Cavalier sales were at 218,950, which was about 2 percent off last year's pace.
Pontiac sold 3,485 Sunfires in November, which was 42 percent fewer than the 6,044 sold in November of last year. For the first 11 months of the year, Pontiac sales were at 68,184, which was about 13 percent off last year's pace.
Republic says unionagrees on changes
FAIRLAWN, Ohio -- Republic Technologies International LLC, a steel bar manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy about eight months ago, said the United Steelworkers of America has agreed in principle on changes designed to speed up the company's reorganization.
Republic expects the agreement to result in lower costs, improved performance and continued financing.

Ford to cut benefits,lay off 630 workers
DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. said Monday that it will reduce retirement and health benefits for 45,000 white-collar workers and lay off 630 people to save about $300 million a year.
