XAmerican Slovak Cultural Association of the Mahoning Valley will hold its annual vilija dinner at 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at St. Matthias School Hall, 2800 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. HOME TOURS
XHowland Community Church will sponsor its ninth annual holiday home tour from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. Five homes will be featured, and a reception will be held in the church's John Howland Room from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $12. Tours also will be available from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at a cost of $8. MUSEUMS
XLordstown Historical Society Schoolhouse Museum will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday with a display of old toys and a visit from Santa Claus. The museum is located in Founder's Park in the center of Lordstown. Admission is free. For information call Alda Pugh at (330) 824-2116.
SALES
XNorth Star Patchwork Retail Center, 192 Haseltine Ave., Youngstown, will hold a holiday extravaganza sale of handmade quilts, ornaments, wall hangings, dolls and table runners from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization.
TRIPS
XNational Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon will sponsor a trip to Columbus on April 30. Cost is $69, and the trip will include the Jubilee Museum containing three floors of Catholic memorabilia; Holy Family Church, which was completely renovated in the space of four weeks; a catered lunch; and a tour of downtown Columbus.
