NILES Second raid on house brings 5 more arrests
The police chief said the crackdown on narcotics in the city continues.
NILES -- Two weeks after raiding a South Cedar Street home and arresting three people on drug and weapons charges, police have arrested five more at the same house.
Officers from the Niles Narcotics Unit, Trumbull County Drug Task Force and the Youngstown Office of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms searched the house at 223 S. Cedar St. on Friday afternoon.
Agents seized prescription drugs, syringes, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and records. The Trumbull County Sheriff's Tactical Response Team was used to gain entry into the house.
Police Chief Bruce Simeone said agents were still buying narcotics from the South Cedar Street house after the Nov. 16 raid. The chief said the crackdown on narcotics in the city by the narcotics unit, county drug task force and Youngstown ATF will continue.
Previous arrests: In the first raid, police arrested Nicole Rozier, 22, of Ann Street, and Eric Cochran, 22, of East Judson Street, Youngstown. They were charged in federal court with conspiracy to traffic in drugs with a firearm. Another woman, Donna Tabor, 40, of East Second Street, was charged in Niles Municipal Court with drug abuse, a misdemeanor.
At this week's raid, police interviewed 21 people at the house and arrested five. They remained in the city jail Saturday afternoon and are expected to appear in Niles Municipal Court on Monday.
