YOUNGSTOWN -- Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church was the setting at 3 p.m. Nov. 17 for the wedding of Atty. Miriam M. Ocasio, 58 N. Bruce St., and Angel Pito Rivera, 1023 Oak St.
Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiated, and after a reception the couple left on a wedding trip to Cocoa Beach, Fla.
The bride is a daughter of Evangelita Ocasio, also of 58 N. Bruce St., and the late Francisco Ocasio. She earned a bachelor's degree at Youngstown State University and a juris doctorate at Cleveland Marshall College of law. She is an attorney at Pinewood Center in Boardman.
The groom, a son of Carmen Vega of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and the late Fortunato Rivera, is the owner of Pito's Auto Body. He attended a vocational school in Mayaguez.
Given in marriage by Frank Ocasio Jr., the bride wore a silk sheath accented with pearls and lace and featuring a high neckline, dropped bodice and a cathedral train.
Champagne gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Delilah Ocasio-Williams and Jazmine Pagan. Wearing cranberry gowns were the bridesmaids, Sarita Ocasio, Amber Sanchez, Jo-Lein Quarles, Evangelita Brown, Malinda Ocasio and Christina Rivera. Flower girls were Daisy Corso, Melanie Pagan and Natalie Pagan, and Grimilda Santiago was ring bearer.
Best men were Luis Rivera and Angel Class, and groomsmen were Vittorio Pace, Jussus Sanchez, Justin Quarles, Marc Brown, Frank Ocasio III and Angel Rivera Jr. Ushers were Nelson Ocasio and Nathaniel Askew III. Also participating were Anthony Meranto, Dominic Corso and Dustin Corso.
