A woman from Taylor Street N.E. in Brookfield Township called to say that two dogs killed her goat and were eating it. She said she tried to scare the dogs away, but they growled. A woman on Leiby-Osborne Road N.W. in Southington Township called to report a large, mean dog in her back yard. She said the dog had a 5-inch gash on the side of his neck and was "extremely vicious." The deputy dog warden told the 911 dispatcher that was not a reason for them to be called out and to tell the people to put some food out for the dog and maybe the dog would go home. The 911 dispatcher got someone from the Animal Welfare League to get the dog.
May 26, 6:07 p.m.
A man on Elm Street S.E. in Brookfield reported that two pit bulls were on his street growling at people. The man said he knew who owned the dogs but the owner was not home and the dogs were running loose. A deputy dog warden told 911 that it's the dog owner's responsibility and it does not fall within the dog warden's guidelines to come out. The deputy dog warden said to tell everyone to leave the dogs alone and to stay away.
