YOUNGSTOWN -- Cornerstone Presbyterian Church will have a "Living Gift Market" from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 featuring live animals, kids activities, snacks and an informational booth. Christmas story told
SHARON, Pa. -- A dinner and concert titled "An Evening of Elegance" will include the Christmas story at 5 p.m. Friday at the Rosemont Banquet and Conference Center. The event is sponsored by Women In Ministry Shenango Valley. The cost is $30 a person. Call (724) 528-1345.
Communal services
CANFIELD -- Area Catholic churches will have communal penance services at different locations. The services, all at 7:30 p.m., are Dec. 10 at St. Michael Church, Canfield; Dec. 11 at St. Nicholas Church, Struthers; Dec. 12 at Holy Family Church, Poland; and Dec. 13 at St. Charles Church, Boardman.
Family concert
NORTH LIMA -- Good Hope Lutheran Church will have a family night concert at 7 p.m. Sunday. The band "Captive Free," which is sponsored by the Minneapolis-based Youth Encounter, will perform. An offering will be taken.
Christmas cantata
HUBBARD -- The Chancel Choir of Coalburg United Methodist Church will present the Christmas cantata, "Let the Earth Receive Her King," by Ed Lee at 10:45 a.m. Dec. 23 during the morning worship service.
Music festival set
BOARDMAN -- Bethel Lutheran Church will present a Christmas Festival of Music on Dec. 9. The prelude begins at 7 p.m. and the concert is at 7:30 p.m.
Reconciliation service
WARREN -- Blessed Sacrament Parish will have its annual Advent reconciliation service at 4 p.m. Dec. 16. The service will include confession.
Handbell performance
POLAND -- As part of its bicentennial celebration, Poland Presbyterian Church will be featuring the handbell ensemble Classical Bells from Detroit at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. The ensemble, founded in 1983, consists of 15 musicians. Tickets are $5. Call (330) 757-1547.
