SHAWNA GACAMICHAEL GILLIGAN
YOUNGSTOWN -- Living in Willoughby following a honeymoon trip to the Mayan Riviera are Michael Gilligan and his bride, the former Shawna Gaca, who were married at 1 p.m. July 28 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiated for the daughter of James Gaca, 4660 Leffingwell Road, Canfield, and the late Carmel Gaca, and the son of Connie Gilligan, 3393 Highland Drive, Hubbard, and the late Terry Gilligan.
A reception was held in the church hall.
The bride was wearing a sleeveless A-line gown of ivory satin designed with a scoop neckline accented with pearls. The skirt flowed to a chapel train.
Maid of honor was Kathy Janik of Westlake, and bridesmaids were Jodi Grdic of Canfield, the groom's sister; Dawn Marzano of Boardman, the bride's cousin; Beth DeLucia of Boardman; Claire Daviduk of Westlake; and Dana Zupp of Painesville. They wore mocha-colored gowns.
Doug Gilligan of Girard performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Jack Grdic of Canfield, the groom's brother-in-law; Jim Gaca of Boardman, the bride's brother; Dan Ruby of Evanston, Ind., his cousin; Mark Cox of Columbus; and Alan Sinopoli of Girard.
The couple are both graduates of Youngstown State University with bachelor's degrees in secondary education. They are employed as teachers in the Cleveland area.
