LOWELLVILLE -- Shari J. Cheff, a daughter of Shirley Cheff of Struthers, and Dennis D. Gonatas of Youngstown, a son of Linda Bott of Struthers and Dennis Gonatas of Austintown, were united in marriage July 28 at Victory Assembly of God.
The 1 p.m. ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. Fred Baer, and a reception was held in honor of the couple at Antone's Banquet Centre, Boardman.
The newlyweds left on a honeymoon cruise to the western Caribbean.
They live in Youngstown.
Fashioned of white embroidered Italian satin, the bride's sleeveless gown featured a modified sweetheart neckline and an A-line skirt that flowed into a chapel train.
Victorian lilac gowns were worn by Janice Paulik, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Wendy Trebella, Renee Snyder, Jennifer Phillips and Andrea Gentile.
Pete Gonatas was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Brian Mihok, Ralph Stellato, Jason Sulik and Kyle Wire. Also participating were the bride's cousins, Michael and Jerry Vigliotti.
The bride graduated cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and is director of education at Sylvan Learning Center, Boardman.
The groom is a deputy sheriff with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department. He attended YSU.
