YOUNGSTOWN -- The marriage of Mary Phillips and Fred Willis, both of 509 Murray Hill Drive, Liberty, was solemnized by the Rev. Michael H. Harrison during a ceremony at 5 p.m. July 27 at Union Baptist Church.
The newlyweds accepted congratulations during a reception at the Brentford House in Hubbard before leaving on a honeymoon cruise to the western Caribbean.
They live at the Murray Hill address.
The bride is a daughter of the late Ware and Lila Marbry, and the groom is a son of the late Fred and Christina Willis.
A second-grade teacher in Warren City Schools, Mrs. Phillips-Willis earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in education at Youngstown State University.
Mr. Willis is a training partner at Boston Retail Products. He is an U.S. Army veteran.
The bride's white two-piece ensemble was designed with a V-neckline. Sequins and pearls embellished her gown.
Tiffany Phillips of Silver Spring, Md., daughter of the bride, served as honor attendant. She wore a lilac gown.
Performing the duties of best man was Shawn Phillips of Stow, son of the bride. Ushers were Sampson Mitchell of Youngstown and Robert Wigfall Jr. of Campbell.
