Plaskon 50th to be celebrated at family event



SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Plaskon of Sun City Center, formerly of Hubbard and Boardman, will be honored Sept. 1 during a family gathering at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kathy Plaskon of Salem.
The couple's other children and spouses are Don and Diane Plaskon of Poland; Tom and Sheila Plaskon of Long Branch, N.J.; Nancy and John Wall of Oakhill, Va.; and Jess and Jennifer Plaskon of Mentor. The family circle also includes six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The family requests that friends send cards, pictures or a written memory to 2828 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44507-1692. These will be shared at the family party.
The former Marie Theresa Newsome and Mr. Plaskon were married Sept. 15, 1951, at St. Henry Church in Bayonne, N.J. They lived in Bayonne and South River, N.J., before moving to Ohio in 1978.
Mrs. Plaskon retired in 1997 from Arthur Treacher's in the Youngstown area.
Mr. Plaskon retired in 1995 from PHD Manufacturing Inc. in Columbiana and had a business in Youngstown.
They moved to Florida in 1999.
Mr. Plaskon is a volunteer ambulance driver and was active in the Kiwanis Club. He and his wife are active in the Catholic Church. She sang in the choir and he assisted at bingo parties.
