Anniversary celebration held for Sciortinos



YOUNGSTOWN -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Sciortino, 6725 Lockwood Blvd., was celebrated Aug. 15 during a family reunion held at Atlantic Beach, N.C.
The Sciortinos will also renew their marriage vows during a 4 p.m. Mass to be held Sept. 15 at St. Christine Church, where they are members.
Arrangements for the events were made by the couple's family, David and Mary Sciortino of Franklin, Mass.; Ned and Cathy Sciortino of Corona, Calif.; Nancy Sciortino of Signal Hill, Calif.; and John and Joan Dubiel of Boardman. There are nine grandchildren in the family.
Mr. Sciortino and the former Eleanor J. Timko were married Sept. 15, 1951, at St. Dominic Church.
Mrs. Sciortino was a beautician at G.M. McKelvey.
Mr. Sciortino served as a helicopter mechanic with the U.S. Army Transportation and retired in 1995 as vice president of Commercial Intertech.
