AUSTINTOWN -- Township police are investigating a complaint that an 11-year-old boy molested his 5-year-old half sister while spending the night last week at their father's house, where the girl also lives, police reports show. The boy lives with his mother. The father's girlfriend reported to police Monday that the boy may have been touching the girl inappropriately when the children slept in the same room. The woman also told police that the girl told her day-care provider that the boy wakes her up when he touches her.
Criminal summons
AUSTINTOWN -- Township police issued a criminal summons for drug abuse against a 23-year-old Youngstown woman after finding marijuana and Vicodin in her purse during a traffic stop. Officers had stopped the 24-year-old male driver of the 1987 Oldsmobile, also of Youngstown, for speeding at 40 mph in a 25 mph area on Oakwood Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Monday. A canine was called and alerted officers to the odor of narcotics. A search also discovered marijuana residue and Darvocet pills in the vehicle. The woman, a passenger in the car, was released with a summons to appear Thursday in county court in Austintown.
False identification
AUSTINTOWN -- An employee at Fred Martin Ford on Mahoning Avenue reported to township police that a man giving a Youngstown address had tried to lease a Mercedes Benz on Monday using a false name and social security number, police reports show. The salesman said the customer used the social security number of a man with the same name. When the salesman questioned that the age reflected on a credit report was older than the customer, the customer said the report was probably bringing up information about his father. He provided a Kansas driver's license, became nervous and left, the salesman told police. The salesman said he contacted the man named in the credit report and learned that the customer had attempted the same scheme in Michigan, Georgia and other parts of Ohio.
