A well-deserved breakfor long-distance hiker
CANFIELD -- John Hudock III is relaxing at his parents' home in Canfield after completing a 4,587-mile hike across America.
The former construction worker gave up his apartment in Canfield last year and started his walk from the tip of the Florida Keys.
It took more than eight months for Hudock, 43, to work his way through Alabama, across the Appalachian Trail and up into Canada.
Hudock was profiled in The Vindicator in March.
Since finishing the transcontinental hike Aug. 12, Hudock has been considering options for his next trip.
He mentioned two possibilities: a 4,200-mile trail, which recently opened across Chile, or a 4,000-mile trek over part of the Great Wall of China.
