LAWRENCE COUNTY FAIR
Schedule of events
The 48th annual Lawrence County Fair runs through Saturday at the county fairgrounds off Pa. Route 108 about three miles east of New Castle.
General admission: Adults $6; children 7 and over, $4; children under 6, free.
There will be daily exhibits of livestock, farm crops, food, clothing, crafts, farm and home equipment, classic cars, old-time machinery, a sawmill, a petting zoo and rides.Grandstand Entertainment starts each night at 7:30 p.m.: Monday, Dave Martin's Rodeo; Tuesday, bull-ride mania; Wednesday, country singer Chad Brock; Thursday, ATPA Tractor and Truck Pull, followed by a combine demolition derby; Friday, ATPA Tractor and Truck Pull; Saturday, farm stock and antique tractor pull at 9 a.m. and demolition derby and fireworks at 8 p.m.
JUDGING SCHEDULE
FRIDAY
Lead line contest, 7:30 p.m.
SATURDAY
4-H show, 10 a.m.; beef cattle fitting, 10 a.m.; sheep blocking, 1:30 p.m.
FREE ENTERTAINMENT
FRIDAY
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Castle Country Cloggers; 8 p.m. The Wrangler Band, country music.
SATURDAY
3 p.m., Northminster Boot Scooters, line dancers; 5:30 p.m., Karen Elder and Her Dancing Shoes; 8 p.m., Lone Wolf, country music.
