Shipmans mark 50th anniversary during party

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Mr. and Mrs. Moses Shipman Sr., 116 Woodward Ave., formerly of Youngstown, were honored during a party July 6 at Hearthstone Manor, Depew, N.Y., on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the event were issued by their children and son-in-law, Ronald E. Shipman Sr., Brenda K. and William B. Smith Jr., Moses Shipman Jr. and Natalie Shipman, all of Buffalo, and Norma J. Spellman, Birmingham, Ala. Their family also includes 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The former Evelyn Scott and Mr. Shipman were married July 3, 1951, by a justice of the peace in Warren.
Mrs. Shipman retired in 1979 as a food technician from Service Systems.
Retiring in 1992, Mr. Shipman was a janitor supervisor with the New York State Office of General Services.
They are members of Peace Missionary Baptist Church.
