Author's workshop
Local author Susan Dexter will conduct "Where Writers Become Authors," the monthly fiction writer's workshop, on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Jerry Stigliano's Book Source on State Street in Hermitage. Topics to be discussed include "Writing for Children of All Ages," writing exercises and general discussion. A $10 registration fee is required. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 724-981-0777 or at the front counter of the Book Source.

U Wen Spencer, author of "Alien Taste," will appear for a book signing Friday at 7 p.m. at Barnes & amp; Noble, 381 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman.
U Sharon Flake of Pittsburgh, author of "The Skin I'm In" and "Money Hungry," will sign copies of her books Saturday at 2 p.m. at Barnes & amp; Noble.
