HANALEI, HAWAII -- The marriage of Cynthia Schiavello and E. Ross Schwarz, both of Chicago, was solemnized by the Rev. Merlin Ching, during a 3 p.m. ceremony July 7 at Makana Estate in Hanalei on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
A reception was held immediately afterward and the couple spent their honeymoon touring the Hawaiian islands.
A postnuptial reception was held in honor of the newlyweds Aug. 3 at The Georgetown in Boardman. The couple will live in Eugene, Ore.
The bride is a daughter of Charles and Jean Schiavello of Poland, and parents of the groom are Burt and Sally Schwarz of St. Louis.
The bride's pewter dupioni silk gown featured short sleeves and was overlaid with French tulle enhanced with a silver and green floral motif.
Participating in the wedding were Mark and Tina Schnapper of Eugene, the groom's sister and brother-in-law.
Prior to her marriage, the bride was a research assistant at Rush Hospital in Chicago. She graduated from Ohio State University in Columbus with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and a doctor of medicine degree from Loyola University Medical School in Chicago. In September he will be a physician with the Oregon Medical Group in Eugene.
