Director retires
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sister Consolata Kline, H.M., will retire Nov. 1 after serving for 11 years as executive director of Catholic Charities services for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
As executive director, Sister Consolata has been responsible for the oversight of Catholic Charities service agencies in the diocese's six counties: the Diocese of Youngstown Catholic Charities Corp., the Offices of Social Action and Social Services, and Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities.
Sister Consolata made her final profession of vows with the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1948. For 20 years she was executive director of St. Elizabeth Health Center and served two terms as Major Superior of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin expressed his "sincere and profound gratitude" for all she has done for the diocese.
Ministries director
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Community Church has announced the Rev. Gerry Fraley of Garland, Texas, became its new director of ministries effective last Monday.
The Rev. Mr. Fraley's role will be a mixture of leadership, support and teaching. The church's pastor is the Rev. David B. Roberts.
Auditor to speak
CANFIELD -- State Auditor Jim Petro will speak at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Canfield United Methodist Church. Petro, 52, of Columbus, is a member of the United Methodist Church.
He will speak on some of the lessons in civility he has learned while in office.
Consultors named
YOUNGSTOWN -- Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has named nine priests as diocesan consultors for five-year terms starting Sept. 1.
They are: Monsignor Michael Cariglio, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Youngstown; Monsignor James Clarke, pastor of St. Paul Parish in North Canton; the Rev. Charles Crumbley, pastor of St. James Parish in Warren; Monsignor John DeMarinis, pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Youngstown; the Rev. Gerald DeLucia, pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Lowellville; Monsignor John Finnigan, pastor of St. Peter Parish in Canton; the Rev. Ronald Klingler, pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Canton; Monsignor Robert Siffrin, vicar general of the diocese; and the Rev. Raymond Thomas, pastor of St. Mary Parish and St. Frances Parish in Conneaut.
Diocesan consultors are chosen from the Presbyteral Council to assist the bishop. Their responsibilities under canon law include: election of the diocesan administrator when the diocese becomes vacant; financial duties such as advice regarding the hiring and firing of the finance officer; and informing the Holy See of the bishop's death.

BOARDMAN -- The multi-ethnic group Khanyisa from South Africa will perform dance and music at 6 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Fellowship. The group's name means "to bring to the light" in Zulu.
Trio to perform
AUSTINTOWN -- First United Methodist Church will present The Pathfinders from Gastonia, N.C., at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
The group, consisting of Dearl Lemons, Dawn McGuire, and Steve Griswold, has been performing for seven years.
Revival services
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. L.W. Booker Sr. of White Rock Baptist Church in Atlanta, will be the evangelist for revival services at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. The services are 7 p.m. Aug. 27 to 31.
28th anniversary
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Calvary Temple Worship Center will celebrate its 28th anniversary Sunday.
The Rev. Larry Goodwin, director of missions for Calvary Ministries International in Fort Wayne, Ind., will be the guest. Services are at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The evening service will be followed by a bonfire cookout and singing.

NORTH JACKSON -- Michael Vance of Columbus will speak at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at Christ is the Answer Church.
Seminar scheduled
FARRELL, Pa. -- Apostolic Women of the Word will have a seminar with the theme "Wilt Thou be Made Whole?" at New and Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
Starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 18, there will be a workshop, luncheon, and a panel of speakers.

Polish service
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- An Our Lady of Czestochowa Celebration will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at Sts. Philip and James Church, St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
The guest celebrant will be the Rev. Raphael Glinkowski of the Pauline Fathers Monastery in Kittanning, Pa.
A homily in Polish will be delivered by Monsignor Jerzy Kedzierski, a Pauline priest from Poznan, Poland. The Mass and hymns will also be in Polish. Confessions in English or Polish will be at 6:30 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Missionary Isa Bajalia, who founded a church and runs a day-care program and preschool in Ramallah on the West Bank, will speak at 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Chapel.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Sacred Heart Padre Pio Prayer Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 26 at the Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted.
The program will include Mass and a video on the Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima.
