WARREN Man indicted on charge of aggravated murder

The men and a group of friends were playing cards.
WARREN -- Shawn Price, 22, of Maple Street S.W., was indicted by a special Trumbull County grand jury Monday on a charge of aggravated murder.
The grand jury released the report a few hours before Price, also known as Shawn Chaney, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in municipal court, which then was canceled.
He will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the common pleas courtroom of Judge Peter Kontos. Price, held without bond, has pleaded innocent. He is accused of the March 18 killing of William Jarrette, 38, and the attempted killing and robbery of Nick Warfield, 25. Both victims lived on Burton Street.
Possible outcome: Price faces the death penalty on the aggravated murder charge, which includes firearm specifications.
Authorities said aggravated circumstances apply because Jarrette was killed during the commission of other crimes -- the aggravated burglary of Jarrette and Warfield.
The indictment includes two counts of aggravated robbery, with firearm specifications, both first-degree felonies.
In the shooting of Warfield, Price faces either one count of attempted aggravated murder, a first-degree felony, or a count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, according to prosecutors.
Firearm specifications carry a mandatory three-year prison sentence.
Police Chief John Mandopoulos has said Jarrette was shot and killed around 1 a.m. at his home. Jarrette's friend, Warfield, was wounded and spent several days in the hospital.
The men and a group of friends were in Jarrette's home playing cards when Warfield went outside to meet someone. Police say Warfield was robbed and shot at as he tried to get away. Jarrette came out to find Warfield and Jarrette was shot in the neck.
The grand jury also issued a secret indictment and indicted an Akron man on sex charges. No details were available on those cases.
