AUBURN, N.Y. Doubledays pound the Scrappers, 11-4

Starter Luke Field pitched well for the Scrappers, allowing only four runs -- two earned -- in six innings.
AUBURN, N.Y. -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers' rally went for not as the Auburn Doubledays won 11-4 in a New York-Penn League game Monday at Falcon Park.
After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Scrappers (14-33) struck for three runs in the fifth only to watch Auburn (20-28) put the game away with a five-run seventh.
The Scrappers conclude the two-game series with the Doubledays tonight before their day off Wednesday.
Offense: Auburn recorded 12 hits off four Scrappers pitchers, with designated hitter Tyrell Godwin going 4-for-4 and scoring three times. Shortstop Manny Mayorson drove in three runs.
Scrappers designated hitter Rickie Morton and third baseman Chad Peshke each had two hits, and shortstop Jesus Colmenter had two RBIs.
Luke Field started for the Scrappers. He pitched six innings, allowing four runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out two.
Jeff Pennington (0-2) took the loss by allowing three earned runs in one-third of an inning.
Chris Mowday, Auburn's third pitcher of the game, earned the victory by throwing three innings of shutout ball, while striking out eight.
