CAR WASHES
XBoardman Band Flagline will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Chili's parking lot in the Southern Park Mall from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pizza Hut at state Route 224 at South Avenue.
FESTIVALS
XLutheran Brotherhood Branch 8097 will sponsor a festival and bazaar from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenford Lutheran Church, state Route 165 and Lisbon Road. A variety of food and merchandise will be available.
XSt. Rocco's Episcopal Church, 239 Trumbull Ave., Liberty, will observe a patronal celebration day Sunday. A Mass at 10 a.m. will be held and there will be an outdoor procession featuring a bagpiper. A homemade cavatelli and spaghetti dinner is planned from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children, and children under five are free. There will be music by John Gabriele. Also planned are a Chinese auction, homemade sausage and bake sale, 50/50 raffle and baseball, basketball and volleyball for all ages. For information call (330) 759-1223.
FUND-RAISERS
XA charity auction is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Copeland Oaks Retirement and Senior Living Community, 800 S. 15th St., Sebring. Doors open at 9 for a preview. The auction will take place rain or shine in the parking lot. Admission and parking are free. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds will benefit Copeland Oaks' life care fund that helps cover the costs of residents whose own resources have been reduced or depleted.
XSts. Peter & amp; Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Youth Ministry will sponsor a scholarship benefit from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Orthodox Center, 1025 Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. There will be dancing and ethnic foods available. Admission is $5 per person with children under 12 admitted free. A silent auction, bake sale, drawings and Chinese auction will be featured.
SALES
XNew Grace Baptist Church, 909 Fairgreen Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a flea market from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. The event also will have barbecue ribs and hot sausage sandwiches for sale. XSounds of Square County Chorus is sponsoring a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut Ave., Niles. XVienna VFW Post 3521 will hold a garage sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. . Saturday at Vienna Township Grange, located next to the fire station in Vienna. Proceeds will benefit the VFW Mathews Scholarship Fund.
