Results of recent fishing tournament action:
X-Series bass tournament, Seneca Lake, July 22: Paul Naylor, Sheroddsville, Dave Murphy, Carrollton, $2,000 (9.03 pounds); Chris Medvec, Dundee, Mike Money, Delroy, $750 (6.32 pounds); Dan Mansky, Rick Otterson, Youngstown, $300 (6.06 pounds); George and Nick Prvonozac, Warren, $175 (5.83 pounds); Scott Kline, Alliance, Greg Heddleson, Louisville, $150 (5.31 pounds). The next contest is Aug. 26 at Berlin Reservoir.
The Prvonozac brothers also turned in a winning performance at the Salmoides Team Tournament Circuit contest on Mosquito Lake July 14.
The brothers landed 13.52 pounds of bass to net a $1,380 pay day and 100 points on the tournament overall standings list. The brothers also won the 10-pound pot for an additional $165 and the big bass award with a 4.9 pound bass and an additional $215.
The next Salmoides Team contest is Aug. 18 on the Pike Island pool of the Ohio River.
Mark Hull and Todd Robinson of Hubbard won first place and $500 at the Western Reserve Walleye Association's tournament on Lake Erie July 29 with a total of 25.92 pounds of walleye.
Other winners were Dale and Jerry Grimm, Lordstown, 16.34 pounds, $400; Eric Chambers, Salem and Tom Kozicky, Louisville, 13.84 pounds, $250.
Big walleye went to Roger Curry and Ron Fowler of Bristolville with a 10.42-pound fish. They won $125.
OHIO
Duck blind lottery set
COLUMBUS -- Hunters who wish to apply for a permit to set up a blind to hunt ducks at an Ohio state park during the 2001-2002 waterfowl hunting season must enter a lottery drawing to be held at selected state park offices on Aug. 18. A limited number of duck blind permits are available at 17 state park locations throughout Ohio.
To enter the lottery, applicants must appear in person at the participating state park office on the day of the drawing and show proof of a current or 2000 Ohio hunting license, along with a federal duck stamp and state wetlands habitat stamp issued in the applicant's name.
Applications will be taken beginning at 8 a.m. at most parks, with the lottery following. Exceptions: Deer Creek and A.W. Marion state parks where lotteries will be held at 9 a.m., and Buck Creek State Park where the lottery is at 7:30 a.m.
Each entrant can apply for only one duck blind permit; no one can apply or draw for another person. There is a $50 non-refundable permit fee for lottery winners. Lottery winners have 45 days to construct their blinds. All blinds must be dismantled by March 15, 2002.
Parks included: Portage Lakes, West Branch, East Harbor , Lake Loramie, Dillon, Buck Creek, Caesar Creek, Cowan Lake, East Fork, Kiser Lake, Rocky Fork, Alum Creek, A.W. Marion, Buckeye Lake, Deer Creek, Delaware and Indian Lake.
