The Humphreys celebrate 50 years of marriage



WALNUT CREEK -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Humphrey, County Road 444, formerly of Youngstown, were honored during a reception held July 22 at Countryside Chapel in Sugar Creek on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple also will be honored at celebrations arranged by each of their children, Richard A. Humphrey in New York, N.Y.; Patricia Burnes in Columbus; Paula Humphrey-Rowland in Sanford, N.C.; and Russell Humphrey in Washington D.C.
The former Joyce Ann Stephens and Mr. Humphrey exchanged marriage vows July 21, 1951, in St. Clairsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey are members of Countryside Chapel.
Mrs. Humphrey is employed at the Kids Collection. She is involved in missions and Christian Women's Club.
Mr. Humphrey retired this year as a teacher in Holmes County schools and is a substitute teacher. He is a member of the VFW and American Legion, having served from 1951-54 in the U.S. Navy.
One grandson completes their family.
