MASON -- The wedding of U.S. Army Lt. Matthew J. Bishara of Fort Hood, Texas, and Mary Elizabeth Youket of Mason took place July 7 at St. Susanna Church.
The Rev. Harry Meyer presided at the ceremony for the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn Youket of Mason and the son of John and Judy Bishara, 2712 Bendemeer Court, Poland.
The newlyweds were escorted by a military honor guard at the wedding and to the ballroom of the Marriott Hotel where they accepted congratulations during their wedding reception.
The couple have postponed their wedding trip to Ireland until mid-August. Upon returning they will live near Fort Hood at 408 Silver Creek Drive, Harker Heights, Texas.
Maid of honor was Elsa Perrotta, and bridesmaids were Elizabeth Youket, a sister of the bride, and Andrea Zurbruegg. The bride's niece, Kaileigh Strobel, was flower girl.
The duties of best man were performed by Steven Meyer and groomsmen were Erik Dietrick and Brad Gogats.
The groom graduated from the University of Cincinnati and is a commissioned 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He is completing a five-week quartermaster course at Fort Lee, Va.
The bride earned a degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati and will be employed as a pediatric nurse in Killeen, Texas.
