Family dinner held to honor Bacon jubilee

SHARON, Pa. -- Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bacon, 306 Maple Way, were honored June 29 for the observance of their 50th wedding anniversary during a family dinner at the Rosemont Banquet Center.
Their children and their spouses are George and Sherry Chirikas of West Middlesex, Pa.; Thomas and Nancy Caputo of Pittsfield, Pa.; Paulette Darlington of Canfield; and Bryan Bacon and Michael and Jacqueline Steiner, all of Sharon. They have 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A grandson is deceased.
The former Irene Mikis and Mr. Bacon were married June 30, 1951, in Ebensberg, Pa.
In 1990, Mrs. Bacon retired with 25 years of service at R.L. Polk city directory based in Mercer County, Pa., where she was a supervisor. She belongs to Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Hermitage.
Mr. Bacon was an overhead crane operator prior to retiring in 1992 from Shenango Inc., Sharpsville, Pa.
