YOUNGSTOWN ATHENA will honor women in business
YOUNGSTOWN -- Twenty-four female business and professional women have been nominated for the 2001 ATHENA Award, to be presented at the annual ATHENA Dinner on May 23 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
Sponsored by the Youngstown/ Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Vindicator, the award recognizes women who have demonstrated excellence in their careers, provided leadership in the community and mentored or contributed to the growth of other professional women.
Featured speaker: The featured speaker will be Cynthia Trudell, president of Sea Ray Group, a division of Brunswick Corp. and formerly a General Motors vice president and chairman and president of the Saturn Corp.
Trudell also served as president of IBC Vehicles, a wholly owned GM operation in England, before joining Saturn.
Tickets cost $30 per person and $240 for a corporate table of eight.
The event begins with a VIP reception by invitation only at 5 p.m., followed by a cash bar reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Call Jan Strasfeld at the Chamber or e-mail her at JanS@cboss.com for information or reservations.
