NICHOLAS A. ALTIER, 77



YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rossi Bros. Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church for Nicholas A. Altier, 77, of 3410 Wayside Drive, who died of pancreatic cancer Friday afternoon at home.
Mr. Altier was born May 13, 1923, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Rose Carbon Altier.
He was a press operator for Truscon Steel for 32 years, retiring in 1975. He also worked at Kaufmann's at Southern Park Mall for 13 years, retiring in 1988.
A 1941 graduate of The Rayen School, he was a World War II Army veteran serving in England, France and Germany.
He was a member of the church, its Holy Name Society and was a 20-year member of Poland Council Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of ITAM Post 3 Charles Marino Chapter, Royal Seniors and Cornersburg Happy Seniors.
Besides his wife, the former Antoinette Kalla, whom he married July 16, 1955, he leaves a brother, Frank of Millersburg; and two sisters, Josephine Bengiveno of Austintown and Anne DeLucia of Phoenix, Ariz.
A sister, Kathryn Niles, is deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
