ELECTION 2001 4th Ward Council

Two Democrats face off in the 4th Ward Council race. No Republicans have filed for the office:
PAUL HOGAN, INCUMBENT
Age: 61
Address: 58 Helen Ave., Niles.
Employment: Retired in 1990 after 29 years as a Niles firefighter.
Education: Graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Family: Wife, Sandy, and four children.
Priority if elected: "To continue finding solutions to people's problems in the 4th Ward. I will continue to encourage a first responder service by our fire department. I have a concern in the 4th Ward for the safety and welfare of the people on the South Side during the construction of the new South Main Street bridge and the new middle school on Brown Street.
ANTHONY VIGORITO
Age: 51
Address: 729 Warren Ave., Niles.
Employment: Real estate agent for Reliable Real Estate, Niles, since March 1999; Niles firefighter for 22 years, retiring in 1998.
Education: Graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Family: Wife, Jane, and two sons.
Priority if elected: Maintenance of "storm sewers, curbs and sidewalks and sewers in the 4th Ward. To keep and maintain police and fire [service] up to the proper levels."
