BROOKFIELD -- Forum Health is offering blood pressure screenings, including:
UBrookfield Library from 10 a.m. to noon, and at the Liberty Library from 1 to 3 p.m., and Beeghly Immediate Care in Boardman, from 2 to 4 p.m., all Tuesday.
UThe Community Health Connection at the Eastwood Mall Mondays through Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.
Childbirth classes
YOUNGSTOWN -- A childbirth refresher class is from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Beeghly Medical Park, Boardman. The cost is $5, and registration is required by calling (800) 842-9727.
A "Lamaze in a Day Class" is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The cost is $60. A childbirth class is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for four Thursdays beginning May 10 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The cost is $50. To register for either program, call (330) 841-9251 between 1 and 4 p.m.
Arthritis talk
NILES -- Lori Putt of the Arthritis Foundation will discuss "Arthritis: Diagnosing, Treatment, and Taking Control Of It" at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Community Health Connection in the Eastwood Mall.
Sibling classes offered
YOUNGSTOWN -- A free sibling class for children ages 3 to 10 is from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northside Medical Center. Reservations are required by calling (800) 842-9727.
Free classes are also from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. May 7 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren for children age 2 and over. To register call (330) 841-9913.
Walking program
NILES -- A free walking program for diabetics is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. May 7 at the Community Health Connection in Eastwood Mall.
Heart class
WARREN -- A free outpatient class on living with heart failure is at 6 p.m. May 7, 14, 21 and 29 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Registration is required. Call (330) 841-9880.
Cancer programs
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Bouncing Back," a free low-impact aerobics class for breast cancer survivors and support program for women who have recently undergone breast cancer surgery, meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks starting Tuesday at the YWCA. For registration, call (330) 533-0546.
"I Can Cope," a free education and support series for cancer patients and their families or friends, meets from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays May 9 through June 13 at Northside Medical Center. Registration is required. Call (800) 842-9727.
"Cancer and Your Family: How it Affects Children" is a free program from 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 10 at Northside. Call (800) 842-9727 to register.

Relays scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- The American Cancer Society has set its local 24-hour 2001 Relays for Life and been recognized for its efforts in 2000. This year's events, which all start at 6 p.m., are:
UNorthern Trumbull County at Lakeview Stadium, Friday and Saturday.
UAustintown, at Austintown High School, and Niles, at Bo Rein Stadium, both May 11 and 12.
UColumbiana at Firestone Park, Boardman at Center Middle School, and Warren at the Kent State University Trumbull Branch, all May 18 and 19.
UThe East Liverpool relay is June 8 and 9 at Mangano Memorial Park. Teams in Columbiana county are invited to a dance at 8 p.m. Saturday at St. George Hall in Lisbon, where they may pick up materials for the relays.
Mammograms will be available at each site, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Mahoning County relays ranked fourth in the nation of 104 relays with a population base of 250,000 to 500,000. The relays raised $368,000 last year. Trumbull County's relays placed them fifth in the nation out of 119 relays with a population of 150,000 to 249,999. The relays raised $478,000 in 2000.
Columbiana County's relays raised more than $90,000 in 2000.

NILES -- A program on back care is from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 15 at the Community Health Connection at the Eastwood Mall. A program on arm and neck care is from 9 to 11 a.m. May 8 and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 22 at the Community Health Connection. The fee for either program is $28. Treasurer named
GIRARD -- Dr. Pat DiTommaso of Girard has been installed as treasurer of the executive committee of the Alumni Association of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The retired family physician formerly served as president of the association.
Health program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Healthy Valley Alliance will be host of a seminar on cooperation among health agencies and health disparities in the community from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
The speakers will be Carol E. Allen, president emeritus of the American Health Association, who will discuss eliminating those disparities, and J. Nick Baird, the director of the Ohio Department of Health, who will present a status report on health issues in the state.
