Work on Rte. 224
CANFIELD -- Resurfacing work will reduce U.S. Route 224 to one lane in both directions between state Route 11 and Mill Creek Park from 6 p.m. today through 6 a.m. Monday. Ohio Department of Transportation officials expect periodic lane restrictions to continue until the end of June as part of a $993,871 road project, scheduled for completion July 31.
Fund-raiser planned
BOARDMAN -- The Salvation Army and the Simon Youth Foundation will have a fund-raiser for youth activities Wednesday through May 16 at Southern Park Mall, with the exception of Sundays. Shoppers can drop donations into a yellow watering can just as they drop them into a kettle during the Salvation Army's annual holiday appeal.
