WILLIAM L. BURK, 48

MERCER, Pa. -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, for William L. Burk, 48, of 2679 Valley Road, Jefferson Township, who died of liver failure Wednesday in United Community Hospital, Grove City, after a short illness.
Mr. Burk was born Sept. 28, 1952, in Mercer, a son of Donald and Gloria A. Batley Burk. He worked at Sharpsville Quality Products and previously at Shenango Inc. for 19 years.
He was a Protestant and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 5 and the West Middlesex VFW.
Besides his father of Mercer, he leaves his wife, the former Shirley Yakela, whom he married Oct. 28, 1982; two sisters, Gloria and Tracy Burk, both of Mercer; seven brothers, Rick, Artie, Genie, Donald Jr., David, Joseph and Tom, all of Mercer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
