SALEM -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Midway Mennonite Church for David A. Wenger, 89, of Home Place Assisted Care Home, 12573 S. Salem-Warren Road, who died of infirmities Wednesday evening in Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mr. Wenger was born July 8, 1911, in Green Township, Mahoning County, a son of Adam and Amanda Rohrer Wenger, and was a lifelong area resident.
He attended Oakdale and Greenford schools, and was a self-employed electrician and farmer for many years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of the church, where he taught Sunday school for 60 years and had been active in various church outreach programs.
Besides his wife, the former Letha M. Brunk, whom he married June 23, 1935, he leaves a daughter, Rachel Martin of Boston, Mass.; three sons, Alan of North Lima, and Glen and Dale, both of Columbiana; a sister, Anna Mary Rohrer of Mercersburg, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Jean L. Wenger, four brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Seederly-Mong & amp; Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour before the service Sunday in the church.
