AL V. HENNING, 99 Taught 41 years at Salem High School



SALEM -- Graveside services will be later at Lisbon Cemetery for Al V. Henning, 99, of Essex Nursing Center 2, Salem, who died Thursday morning in the nursing center.
Mr. Henning was born Sept. 22, 1901, in Stark County, Ohio, a son of Albert F. and Flora Lotz Henning.
He graduated from Louisville High School, received a bachelor's degree in education from Heidelberg College, attended the University of Michigan for two years, and received a master's degree in education from Ohio State University. He taught at Salem High School for 41 years and retired in 1968.
Besides his wife, the former Helen Williams, whom he married July 22, 1934, he leaves two daughters, Marcia Henning of Los Angeles and Suzanne Linley of Vero Beach, Fla.; three granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
A sister and a brother are deceased.
Arrangements were handled by Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home.
