THOMAS J. MASON, 53

NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Memorial services were April 16 in Woodbridge, Conn., for Thomas J. Mason, 53, of 53 Allen St., West Haven, Conn., formerly of New Springfield, who died of cancer April 11 at home.
Mr. Mason was born Jan. 26, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of Robert and Mildred Kahier Mason, and lived in the area for 22 years.
A 1966 graduate of Springfield Local High School and a 1970 graduate of Heidelberg College, he was a teacher, coach and naturalist in the New Haven area. He was a member of First Church of Christ in Woodbridge.
Besides his father of New Middletown, he leaves his wife of 30 years, the former Pam Montgomery; a daughter, Katherine Mason of West Haven; two sons, Michael of San Diego, Calif., and Patrick of New Haven; three brothers, Robert of Lynchburg, Va., Sam of Tucker, Ga., and Don of Carlisle, Pa.; and two sisters, Carol Fagnano of New Springfield and Ruth Mason of Oil City, Pa.
Local memorial services will be later in New Springfield. Arrangements were by Hawley Lincoln Funeral Home, New Haven, Conn.
