ANNA M. SCHAFER, 91
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Home for Anna M. Schafer, 91, of Park Vista South, who died Monday afternoon at the home.
Mrs. Schafer was born April 11, 1910, in Beaver, Pa., a daughter of John A. and Alice Patterson McEwen, and was reared in Mount Lebanon, Pa.
A homemaker, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, where she served as deaconess and elder. She graduated in 1926 from Dormont (Pa.) High School and in 1930 from Westminster College, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
She was a member of the Ohio PTA, worked with Girl Scouts, and was a member of Church Women United, Protestant Family Services and Panhellenic.
Her husband, William H., whom she married Sept. 3, 1931, died Feb. 5, 1994.
She leaves two sons, Charles W. of Canfield and Joseph H. of Rocky River, Ohio; two daughters, Betsy Roth of Rocky River and Barbara Snyder of Durham, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Donald and Joseph McEwen; and three sisters, Virginia Brinker, Edna Spurgeon and Ruth Caldwell Braham, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before services at the funeral home.
