WILLIAM A. SALLMEN SR., 78



NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at R. Cunningham Funeral Home, New Castle, for William A. Sallmen Sr., 78, of Edgebrook Apartments, who died Sunday afternoon at home.
Mr. Sallmen was born Feb. 4, 1923, in New Castle, a son of Paul and Ruth Strong Sallmen.
He was a driver for Arizona Tank Lines, a mechanic for Norwalk Truck Lines and attended Victory Assembly of God in Lowellville.
His first wife, the former Anna B. Alley, whom he married in 1940, died June 12, 1986.
Besides his second wife, the former Marjorie Richeal, whom he married May 9, 1992, he leaves two daughters, Frances Cearfoss of Edinburg and Carol Hopper of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, William A. Jr. of New Castle and Carl E. of Volant; three stepdaughters, Kathleen White of Bessemer, Sandra McBride of Pulaski and Vickie McBride of Edinburg; four brothers, John, Jim, Dan and Fred, all of New Castle; four sisters, Martha Haza of Peoria, Ariz., Mary Jane Barton and Thelma Nead, both of Tucson, and Carol Jo Gibson of New Castle; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A stepson, Francis P. Alley; two sisters, Helen Mae Haza and Ruth Campbell; and a brother, Paul, are deceased.
