MICHAEL RUSSO, 88



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph the Worker Church for Michael Russo, 88, of 803 Schenley Ave., who died late Sunday in Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Russo was born June 8, 1912, in New Castle, a son of Angeloantoniaand Concetta Lombardo Russo.
He retired in 1977 as a locomotive engineer with Conrail Railroad, where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of the church and its St. Marguerite Society. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served in the Army during World War II as a medical technician in the European Theater.
His wife, the former Rose Marie Caravella, whom he married Sept. 12, 1946, died Oct. 23, 1987.
He leaves a daughter, Linda Merlini at home; and three grandchildren.
Four brothers, Albert, James, Fred and Ernest Russo, and two sisters, Mary DeMatteo and Margaret Staab, are deceased.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ed & amp; Don DeCarbo Mill Street Funeral Home.
