AUSTINTOWN -- Turner Road between Silica and Ohltown roads will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday while Mahoning County Engineer's Department replaces three culverts. Traffic will be detoured along Ohltown and Silica roads.
Battle of robotics
CANFIELD -- Canfield Fair's Technology Committee wants area schools to submit their best robotic projects to the annual fair. The committee wants to have a battle of the schools using robotics and technology projects.
The fair begins Aug. 29 and ends Sept. 3. Space is limited and time slots are expected to go quickly. Schools that want to participate should contact Bev Fisher at the fair office by e-mail at CanfieldFair@aol.com or call (330) 533-4107 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Seeking host families
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning Valley Ulster Project is looking for host families to provides housing for 15-year-olds from Belfast, Northern Ireland. The annual summer program runs from June 30 to July 31.
Twelve Catholic and Protestant youths will get to know one another through shared activities and other means.
The project pays for airfare, as well as tickets to Cedar Point, baseball games and a movie. Host families must have a teen-ager 14-17 and provide meals and lodging.
