Cicero's will move, open banquet hall

WARREN -- Cicero's Market is moving from its longtime Warren location to Howland.
The store, which features Greek and Italian specialty foods, is moving to 1869 Niles-Cortland Road in the first week of May.
It also will break ground this spring on a new plaza a short distance away on North River Road near Niles-Cortland Road. It will open a banquet center there that will seat 400.
Cicero's now is leasing space in Warren for its banquet hall but moving to a less urban location should help business, said Peter J. Cicero, who owns the business with his wife, Victoria.
He said the store may be moved into the plaza or he may keep it on Niles-Cortland Road if sales go well. The rest of the plaza will be rented out.
Moving to Howland provides better growth opportunities, Cicero said.
"It's a great area, plenty of building going on and plenty of young families," he said.
Patio: The store's wine-making operation will be expanded at the new banquet center. Cicero intends to have a patio where people can gather on the weekends for a bottle of wine, a plate of cheese and entertainment. Right now, the wine is sold at the store.
Being out of the city will help attract bus tours and encourage people from Mahoning County to visit the winery, he said.
His father, Peter R. Cicero, started the store in 1955.
