AUCTIONS
XHeartland Christian School, 28 Pittsburgh St., Columbiana, will hold its fifth annual auction from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the school gymnasium. Proceeds will go toward the school's general fund.
XThe Student Senate of Trumbull Business College will hold a Chinese auction May 5 at the college, 3200 Ridge Road S.E., Howland. Admission is $2 and includes five tickets for the auction. Tickets also will be sold at the event, 10 for $1. Doors will open at 10 a.m., and the auction will begin at noon. There will be a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and door prizes. Proceeds will go toward graduation banquet expenses.
BINGO/CARD PARTIES
XAkiva Academy will sponsor its second annual "Uncle Oscar Deli Bingo Night" at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Community Center, Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. In addition to a dinner of deli sandwiches and games of bingo, the event will feature entertainment by the school's students. Tickets are available at the school or the JCC, and are $12 for adults in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are $6 for children 4-13 and free to those under 4. Price includes a large deli sandwich dinner and one bingo card. Additional sandwiches and bingo cards may be purchased throughout the evening. Prizes will be awarded. XThe Altar-Rosary Confraternity of Our Lady of Hungary Church, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor the spring bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cardinal Mindszenty Hall. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $2. Proceeds will benefit improvement projects at the church.
XMothers of the Crucifix Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor its annual bingo and card party at 3 p.m. Sunday in the church social center. Cost is $3, and tickets will be available at the door. Refreshments will be served.
XThe Women's Guild of St. Joseph Church will sponsor a card party and luncheon for men and women May 2 at the church hall on Case Avenue at East State Street, Sharon, Pa. The event will begin at noon and include raffles and door prizes. The cost is $4.
CRAFT SHOWS

NIGHTS AT THE RACES
XGirard Knights of Columbus Council No. 2935 and its Auxiliary, 122 S. State St., will sponsor a night at the races Saturday at the club hall. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and races start at 7:30 p.m. Admission, food and beverages are free. Racing sheets will be available that evening. XA rummage sale will be held at the American Legion Post 560, 103 12th St., Campbell, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 and 4.
XFriends of Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek Park, Youngstown, will sponsor a spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 4 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 5 in the parking lot at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center. Annuals, herbs, shrubs, perennials and garden-related merchandise will be sold.
XLowellville United Methodist Church, 190 W. Wood St., will hold a bazaar and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Food will also be available.
XNew Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. Lunch will be available Thursday, and $1 per bag day will be Friday.
XRedeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will hold a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4. A half-price and bag sale will begin at 2. A light lunch will be available.
XWestern Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will sponsor a garage, attic and basement sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5.
XWestminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will hold a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Also available will be sheet music, records and a snack bar.
