TRACK & amp; FIELD West Branch, Champion are team champs



The Boardman and Southeast girls won other meets.
BELOIT -- Lisa Davies of West Branch High took first place in the 1600-meter run in 5 minutes, 28 seconds, and she won the 3200 (12:15.9) to earn MVP honors at the West Branch Invitational track and field meet Saturday.
The Warriors won the girls title with 155 points. Marlington was second with 99. Eight schools participated in the event.
West Branch's Jen Hively won the 300 hurdles (50.0) and finished second in the 100 hurdles (17.1).
Salem freshman Lizzie Jesko won the 100 (12.8) and the 200 (27.9).
Matt Rycraft of West Branch was named MVP of the boys running events after winning the 200 (23.6) and the 400 (50.9), and finishing second in the 100 (11.4). He also won the long jump (20 feet, 2 inches).
Champion won the championship with 84 points and Howland was second with 82.
The field event MVP was Champion's Steve Burkholder, who won the discus (140-1) and was second in the shot put (42-10 1/2).
Jason Greenamyer of Salem won the 110 hurdles (15.7) and the 300 hurdles (41.3) and finished second in the long jump (19-8 1/2).
Cuyahoga Falls Relays: CUYAHOGA FALLS -- The Boardman girls scored 108 points to win the Cuyahoga Falls Relays. Cuyahoga Falls was second with 100.
Freshman Amber Bland was named MVP of the meet after winning the high jump (5-4). She was also on two winning relays and one that finished third.
Lauren Craig had a career-best effort of 16-5 in the long jump, as she helped the Spartans to first place in the event (43-3).
Triway Invitational: WOOSTER -- Laura Divoky won two events and contributed to a winning relay as the Southeast girls won the championship with 1291/2 points.
Divoky won the 200 (meet record 26.30) and 400 (60.0), and finished second in the 100. She also ran the first leg of the winning 1600 relay (4:12.90).
Southeast also got a first-place finish from Megan Wygle in the 100 hurdles (16.10).
In the boys meet, Southeast placed 10th and Niles was 12th of 13 teams. The Pirates' Joe Divoky won the 300 hurdles (39.20).
Brunswick relays: BRUNSWICK -- Miles Williams, Caesare Brown, Davanzo Tate and Seth Stiner of Austintown Fitch placed second in the 4x400 relay (3:29.5), helping the Falcons place fourth at the Brunswick Relays.
The four also finished second in the sprint medley relay (1:37.6).
Strongsville won the team championship with 74 points, followed by Walsh Jesuit (68) and Brunswick (59). Fitch scored 40 points.
Stiner, Tate, Ross Watson and Jason Cicconi took third place in the 4x100 relay (44.4).
Cory Webb, Sean Williams, Brian Floyd and Shea Stewart placed fourth in the 4x800 relay (8:34.3), and Stiner, Tate, Watson and Williams were fourth in the 4x200 relay (1:33.6).
Eric Chine, Ron Smith and Dave Drabison placed fourth in the high jump relay (16-9).
