SIDELIGHTS For all seniors



Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has scheduled a meeting for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to make plans for the Senior Players variety show. Meetings are open to anyone interested in performing or assisting with the production. Participants are not required to be members of the center. The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at Niles McKinley High School auditorium. Jean Parke is the director. For information call the senior center at (330) 544-3676. The center also has added round dancing to its schedule. Classes are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays, except the third Thursday of the month. Charlie Brown is the instructor. Fees are $3 for SCOPE members and $5 for nonmembers.
SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 9273 High St. N.E., Warren, is offering line dancing classes from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Fridays under the direction of Judy Cadman followed by dance sessions with Norm Flavell. Each class costs $2. Beginning Monday, a series of yoga classes will run four weeks at a cost of $20. An ABC luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday with entertainment by Chuck Cole and a talk by Phyllis Sevell; cost is $3.50. The free Lecture Series II will begin May 2 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with Jim McFarland as the speaker. A senior craft emporium will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3 featuring a covered-dish luncheon and a rubber stamping and dolly workshop.
