WARREN -- The American Red Cross Trumbull County Chapter is offering training programs at its Warren office, including:
UCPR for the Professional Rescuer, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $45.
UCommunity First Aid and CPR, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 5, or from 6 to 9 p.m. May 21, 23 and 30. The cost is $40.
UChild Care Course, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. May 8 and 9. The cost is $42.

The chapter's South East District Office in Niles is offering Community First Aid and CPR, from 6 to 9 p.m. May 1, 3 and 7, or from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 19. The cost is $40.

Diabetes management
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Diabetes Center at St. Francis is offering management classes for diabetics and their families. Conditioning program
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- EverGreen and Villa Maria Sister Services will be host of "Fitness for Life" at 6:30 p.m. May 3 at the Villa Maria Community Center as part of the Complementary Health Series. Transplant sports team
PITTSBURGH -- The National Kidney Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, which includes Lawrence and Mercer counties, is recruiting all types of transplant recipients to take part in 15 individual and team sports at the 2002 U.S. Transplant Games. Challenging children
BOARDMAN -- Author and speaker Pegine Echevarria will present a workshop for professionals titled "Helping Challenging Children to Succeed" from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn. She will discuss coping, motivation and discipline. Continuing-education credit is available. The program is sponsored by Forum Health and a number of other agencies.
Echevarria will present a free workshop on the topic for parents from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Grant awarded
POLAND -- The Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation has received a $1,500 grant from the Ruth H. Beecher Foundation. The grant will help pay for prescription medication and transportation for kidney patients to and from dialysis treatment.
Yoga classes set
