Pekarovic 50th anniversary is observed

NILES -- A 50th anniversary dinner party was held April 7 at Jimmy Chieffo's Restaurant, Warren, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Pekarovic Sr., 1423 Pepperwood Drive.
Prior to the dinner, the couple received a special blessing during a Mass at St. Stephen Church, where they are members.
Arrangements for the family celebration were made by the couple's children and their spouses, Elaine Pekarovic of Austintown, Becky and Rudy Pekarovic Jr. of Champion, and Robert and Kathy Schneider of Dublin. There are also four grandchildren in the family.
Mr. Pekarovic and the former Mary Harmicar were united in marriage April 14, 1951, at St. Peter and Paul Croatian Church, Youngstown.
Mr. Pekarovic served with the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He retired in 1987 from his position as supervisor with Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg.
